Wesley Mathew Schlais

Wesley Schlais passed away at home in Pawnee on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 7 days. Wesley was born in Pawnee September 30, 1938 to John Matthew (Mathie) Schlais and L. Lucile (Casity) Schlais. Wesley graduated high school in Pawnee, Ok. Wesley married Retha Mae Day August 18, 1957.

Wesley spent his time farming and auctioneering. He also worked for Braniff airlines, Cleveland Deep Rock refinery, Spears Furniture, Pawnee Schools, Cimarron Turnpike and retired from the US Postal Service.

Wesley was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Velma Buchanan.

Wesley is survived by his wife Retha; daughter Pamela (Pam) Sue and husband Rudy Rodriguez of Pawnee; Son Tim and wife Becky of Glencoe, OK and daughter Cheryl and husband Danny Lowther of Tulsa, grandchildren Brian Schlais and wife Emma of Tulsa; Justin Rodriguez and wife Christine of Peotone IL; Molly and husband Sean Trantham of Pawnee, Ok; Kelli Schlais of Holbrook AZ and Rachel Schlais of McAlister OK; and great children Nathan McCarty, Rolen Schlais of Tulsa; Gabriel, Jakob and Ezekiel Rodriguez of Peotone, IL; Stetson, Kolby and Josey Monroe of Pawnee and Jack, Jordan, Penny and Madelyn Day Trantham of Pawnee.

Wesley enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He attended many sporting events for his children, grandchildren and great children. Fishing and traveling were other favorite pastimes.

Services will be held Friday 10:00 A.M. in the Eshelman Memorial Chapel in the Highland Cemetery with Clarence Dallas officiating. Services were entrusted to the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, friends and family can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
