Vernon " Buck" Robert Buchanan

Vernon Robert "Buck" Buchanan age 76, of Pawnee Oklahoma, entered Heavens  Pearly Gates, Friday, March 4, 2016. He was at home, surrounded with Love, and his Family by his side.   Buck was born to the Late Vernon Rufus and Fanny Ellen Brown Buchanan on December 12, 1939. Buck had one brother Bunk Buchanan.
Buck attended and Graduated Pawnee High School in 1958.  He married his High School Sweetheart Velma Lee Cavett Buchanan on December 24, 1958. They recently celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary, Christmas Eve.
Buck enlisted in the United States Air force, January 7, 1959. He was stationed at Stewart Air force Base in Symrna, Tennessee, and was Honorably Discharged in November 1962.   Buck and Velma had 2 Daughters in Symrna, Tennessee, Verna Lee Buchanan O'Malley and Vickie Lynn Buchanan Toothman.  They moved back to Pawnee and had their Son, Vernon Roger Buchanan, where they have resided since.
Buck mastered many trades.. welding, masonry, carpentry, farming. He was an inventor and an Entrepreneur.  He had his own Business with his Son for many years.
Buck also earned many recognitions  and awards for his Inventions along with having patents on His Inventions. .....He was  Recognized in the Tulsa World,  for his Metal Artwork as a "Modern Day Da Vinci."
In Buck's later years, He and Velma continued to help their Son, With Roger's Business, Buchanan Fabrication, farming and cattle.  He taught his Daughters, Verna and Vickie,  Carpentry Skills, which although was not an actual "Business", the three of them fondly called themselves, Triple V Construction, As he was an Incredibly Brilliant, Patient and an Extremely Brave Man!
Buck's Hobbies were fishing, hunting, billiards...and Loved to Laugh, play and tease his with his Children, Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church.
Buck was also a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge.
Buck is Survived by his Wife, Velma, And 3 Children Verna and John O'Malley, Vickie and Jimmy Toothman, and Roger and Jill Buchanan.
8 Grandchildren, Jay Dee And Rachel Buchanan, Scott and Jayme Buchanan, Jeremy and Jenny Buchanan, Nic Claybrook, Bradon and Paige Toothman, Taylor Toothman, Tia Claybrook, and Re'gan Toothman. And 10 Great Grandchildren, Trent Buchanan, Zac Buchanan, Logan Buchanan, Jasper Buchanan, Hunter Buchanan, Paisley Buchanan, Savanna Holt, Pearl Buchanan, Lily Toothman, Colton Toothman, Buck's Brother Bunk and wife Martha, Numerous Nieces and Nephews...and Buck's Dog, Babe.
He was Preceded by his Parents, Vernon Rufus and Fanny Ellen Buchanan, One Sister, Vernell Buchanan, His Grandson, Vernon Ross Buchanan and His Great Granddaughter Grace Dawn Claybrook.
Services will be Held for Buck at the First Baptist Church, Pawnee, OK, at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 10, 2016.  His family Invites you to Celebrate his Life, with them
