Verna Burba

Verna L. Burba, a former longtime area resident, now of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the age of 89 years.

The daughter of the late Walter L. Christy and Gladys Staton Christy, Verna was born on June 19, 1933, in Fairfax, Oklahoma and was raised and educated in this area, graduating from Fairfax High School.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Burba on May 23, 1952, and to this union Tomma, Debbie and LaDonna were born. Thomas preceded her in death on October 8, 2013.

Verna was a homemaker and took great pride in keeping a clean home and spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid sports fan, enjoying the game of golf and always wanting to watch and cheer her THUNDER team to victory.

Surviving includes her children, Tomma Hofegartner and her husband Bob of Moore, OK, Debbie Funk of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and LaDonna Campbell and her husband Tom of Lake View, TX; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister Vera Dooley and one son-in-law Wilbur Funk

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Ralston Cemetery.
