Sandra "Sandy" Diane McAlister

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra “Sandy” Diane McAlister on December 14, 2024, at the age of 82. Sandy was born in Kansas on July 14, 1942, to Burney & Marie Wyre. She grew up in Kansas with her three sisters and five brothers. 

Sandy met the love of her life and beloved husband, Bill McAlister, and they wed in 1981. They resided in Maramec, OK. Their early years were spent chasing rodeos and Sandy’s four wild boys. Later, they transitioned to help love and care for their grandchildren. The family was truly what Sandy’s world revolved around, and she was the most selfless caregiver.

 Sandy was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for her family and community. She was the ultimate sports fan and loved knitting, cooking, and reading. 

Preceded in death: Mother & Father, Burney & Marie Wyre, her son, Scott Barlow, and all her brothers and sisters. 

Survived by: spouse, Bill McAlister; Sons: Tim Montgomery and Connie Reed, Jeff and Amanda Barlow, Connie Barlow, John Barlow; Grandchildren: Kyle Barlow, Chapman and Kelsey Hancock, Amber Montgomery, and 8 great-grandchildren. 

A celebration of life will be held at the Pawnee Bill Memorial Rodeo Event Center on Saturday, December 21, 2004, at 11 a.m. Address: 34718 E. 44 Rd., Pawnee, OK.
