Sandra Kay (Scott) Copeland was born on November 16, 1946 in Shidler, OK to William Parley
Scott, Sr and Millie Mae (Mobley) Scott. Because of Millie’s high risk pregnancy, and against
the doctors wishes, the pregnancy was carried to full term, with a healthy delivery of baby
Sandra. When she was 3 years old the Gulf Oil Company transferred the family to Eunice NM
where she was raised. When she was 8 years old she was baptized into The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hobbs, NM. This began a life of service and devotion to Jesus
Christ, His gospel and serving others.. She graduated from Eunice High School in the spring of
1964. Her senior yearbook said her Ambition was to be an Executive Secretary, the kind that
makes lots of money. After graduation she moved to Odessa, TX to attend Odessa Business
School. While attending school she met the love of her life and married Robert Delmar
Copeland, Jr on December 17, 1966 in Mesa, AZ. Soon after marriage her husband was
drafted in the Army and it was while he was stationed at Ft Hood that they welcomed their first
son Robert Scott Copeland on May 9, 1969 in Temple, TX. Her father decided to return back to
Oklahoma where he was raised and the family relocated to Pawnee, OK where she spent the
remainder of her years. It was during these years that she welcomed her second son Barry
Wade Copeland on September 17th 1977. She was a loving mother that enjoyed watching her
sons grow and attending their activities and events. Sandra left this earth on March 19th, 2022
in Stillwater, OK. She is survived by her husband Robert Delmar Copeland Jr of Pawnee,
OK,her two sons, Robert Scott Copeland and wife Paula Jayne Copeland of Norman, OK and
Barry Wade Copeland of Pawnee. She was blessed to be Mimi to Robert Thomas Copeland
and Lauren Nicole Copeland of Norman, OK. She is also survived by her brother Roe Hurt of
Skiatook, OK and Irene Scott of Derby, KS. Sandra loved to spend time with her family and
loved to inspire those with whom she came in contact.
