Ruth Zelene Transue

Ruth Zelene Transue, aged 71, passed away peacefully at her home in Cushing, OK. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through the tough journey she had in the past five years. GOD has called her home on July 15, 2017.Zelene was born January 15, 1946, in Canadian, Tx, to William Leslie and Jeanne Louise Keeley. She was the oldest of 3 beautiful girls – Leslyn, who is married to Robert DeLandsheer in Golden, Colorado, and Joan, who is married to Rod Bertch in Stillwater, Ok.Zelene was a soft spoken, kind hearted, loving woman that cherished her family. She was a rock that their foundation was built on. She taught them to work hard, be kind and be the best they can be. Zelene would give help to anyone. If it would be a smile on someone’s face, it sure would brighten hers. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith.Zelene was a homemaker and professional baker. She loved being a wife. She married Edward Michael Transue on October 23, 1965. Married for 50 years, Zelene and Mike raised their 3 dear children, Jaime, Angela and Barbara. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Zelene faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking/baking from scratch – including cake decorating, sewing and crafting. A woman of faith and the heart of the Transue family, Zelene strived to be the best wife and mother she could be. In 1987, her family began to grow that still continues today. Her husband preceded her in death last April. Zelene is survived by her children; Jaime and Marie Transue of Charleston, South Carolina, Angela and Sandy Leas of Springdale, Arkansas and Barbara and Randy McCray of Pawnee, OK., grandchildren; Michael and Elizabeth Transue of Grovetown, Georgia, April and Kevin Richardson of Cushing, OK, Anthony Leas of Pawnee, OK, William Leas of Springdale, Arkansas, Johnn McCray and Jacob McCray both of Pawnee, OK., great grandchildren; Adriann and Savannah Transue of Georgia, Averi, Jase, Chase and Lane Richardson of Cushing, OK and most recent – Teydon Leas of Pawnee, OK., also many beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends For friends and family of Zelene Transue: There will be a Rosary Service led by Deacon Glenn Collum at Saint John The Evangelist Catholic Church, corner of 8th and Oak Street, Pawnee, OK 74058, on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 7pm. The funeral Mass will be presided by Rev. Matthew La Chance  at Saint John The Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, July 21, 2017, at 10:00 am. Pallbearers include: Michael Transue, Kevin Richardson,Robert Snider, Jacob McCray, Ross McCartney, Nathan McCartney, Randy Pruitt and Ronnie Downard. Honoray Pallbearers includeJaime Transue Randy McCray, Anthony Leas, William Leas, Johnn McCray. Graveside Services will be held at Highland Cemetery immediately after mass.
