Roger L. Domeny

Roger Lynn Domeny, 65, passed away on August 31, 2017 at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Roger was born on March 17, 1952 to Elmer and Leota Domeny. He attended Pawnee Elementary School and graduated from Pawnee High School. As a child, Roger enjoyed helping at home tending to the daily chores and developed a great interest in raising cattle as an adult. He planted and baled alfalfa and hay, for his cattle, on his twenty-three acre farm. He worked for numerous years at Swan’s Rubber Company in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and owned Domeny Construction Company for over twenty years, prior to retiring. Roger married Doris Kay on May 31, 2002 and through this marriage, his family grew to include her two daughters, Lisa and Melanie as well as a granddaughter, Alexis, who shared his love of farming. In 2012, he gained another granddaughter, Kahlan. Roger also enjoyed spending time with his nephew, Seth; who he cared for after school.
Roger is survived by his wife of 15 years, Doris Domeny, of Pawnee, Oklahoma; his brother, Gilbert Domeny of Crossville; Tennessee, his sister Miriam Harrison and her husband, John of Cushing, Oklahoma; his sister, Lila Cates and her husband, Malvin, of Cushing, Oklahoma; and his sister, Valeria Portman of Durant, Oklahoma; children, Lisa Kay and Melanie Kay Diehl, both of Macon, Georgia; Grandchildren, Alexis Bramblett and Kahlan Diehl, both of Macon, Georgia, plus a number of nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Leota Domeny, brother Elmer "Doc" Domeny, Jr., and his sister, Loretta Reisch.
Services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Poteet Funeral Chapel, Pawnee Oklahoma, with Rev. Johnny Wagner officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetary, Pawnee, Oklahoma, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
