Rheadon Gay Poteet

Rheadon Gay Poteet was born January 9, 1947, Pawnee Oklahoma. She was the daughter of David J. and Mattie (Callison) Beaver. She lived in Pawnee most of her life. She married Donald Lee Poteet Jr on February 14, 1991. She passed away on September 15, 2018, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, having reached the age of 71.

Rheadon went to Business College in Tulsa, OK. She spent most of her younger years working in the Oil & Gas industry. The past 25 years were spent beside her husband at Poteet Funeral Home. She enjoyed being able to help those in need.

She also enjoyed gardening. She had a beautiful water garden that was her pride and joy. She spent long hours in her back yard with her beloved dog “Kip” at her side. Her favorite times were spent watching her grandchildren during their activities. She was a fun and loving wife, mom & grandma.

She is survived by her husband of the home, Don Poteet, daughter Misty and husband Bobby Stossel of Glencoe, Sons Stace Brien of Pawnee, & Brandon and his wife Kacee Poteet of Bristow. Grandchildren Garrett Stossel, Callan and wife Rachel Stossel, Cameron Taylor, Sage Brien and Brody Brien, Janie, Jake, Molly & Blair Poteet. Great grandchildren Elcee & Laramie Stossel. Sisters Pat and her husband Melvin Goff, and Melinda Courtright of Pawnee. Brother in law, Larry and wife Beverly Poteet and sister in law, Autumn Lansing. Close friends, Shirley Scott and Jo Riding In. Plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rheadon was preceded in death by her parents, David & Mattie Beaver, sister Mary Belle Beaver, and brother in law Bill Courtright.

Her memorial will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Pawnee, Oklahoma, with Reverend John Coker officiating. Services are under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc.
