On January 7th, 1927 Regina “Reggie” Moore-Wilson was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She was born to Colonel and Dollie Moore. She was a full blood Pawnee and she followed the Pitahawirata band but was a member of all 4 bands. She was a devout member of the Pawnee Chapter of the Native American Church. She passed from this life on Tuesday April 28th at 3:05pm in her home. Her son Charles Wilson, her daughter Grace Watashe, her brother Morgan LittleSun, and minister Lynn Eaves were at her bedside at the time of passing. On or about 3:05pm, her flesh left her body and her spirit started its journey into the spirit world while peyote songs were sung to her and she was being prayed for. At the beginning of the second set of songs, she took her last breath.
Reggie enjoyed many things in life that included going to handgames, dances, and peyote meetings. Her interests also included working variety of crossword puzzles. She enjoyed Native American Church songs and Christian music. She got a kick out of action movies. Her passion was cooking and her family. She always took time to worship and share her family. She always took time to worship and share God’s word. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 91.
Reggie was in the nursing industry. She spent the latter years as a private sitter who took care of many ailing people and their families. She was highly respected and was one of the top referred and trusted private sitters in the industry. She genuinely cared about people.
Reggie was preceded in death by her husband Charlton Lewis(Steve), Father: Colonel Moore; Mother: Dollie(Sherman) Moore, Elizabeth (Justice) Horsechief, Verona (Justice) White, Dena (Moore) Littlesun, Sadie (Moore) Gonzales, Wilson Moore, Freida (Johnson) No Ear, and Coledda Harragarra.
Reggie was survived by son Charles Wilson and daughter Grace Watashe, 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and adopted relatives. Reggie was 88 years old.
Her final message and life’s message was to believe in Jesus Christ. She said “If you want to see me again, you have to believe in Jesus Christ and God.”
The Pawnee Chapter of the Native American Church will officiate services.
