Ralph Haymond Jr., 72, of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed peacefully on February 22, 2024. Ralph was born in Enid, OK on February 19, 1952 to Ralph Haymond Sr and Rachel DeRoin . His early childhood was spent in Oklahoma before moving to Southern California during his adolescence. Ralph had many incredible experiences during his time in California, including singing and dancing at Disneyland. He returned to Oklahoma in his teen years where he attended Pawnee High School and graduated from Tulsa Junior College with a degree in accounting.
Ralph had a sharp mind for business and helped several tribes operate and grow successful gaming operations . He was proud that his efforts brought opportunities and benefits to his relatives and loved ones.Ralph took great pride in his Pawnee ways, dedicating his life to ensure those ways would be carried on to future generations. The Pawnee Nation still conduct ceremonial dances that were brought from their Nebraska homelands, Kitkehaki dance and Young Dog Dance, both of which Ralph actively participated in . Ralph proudly served his people as a Chief for his Kitkihaki Band. He taught the younger straight dancers how to dance the corn ceremony and cedar ceremony. He led the pipe ceremony as well. He had the great honor to serve on the Pawnee Indian Veteran Organization as drum keeper, tail dancer, and whipman. He traveled all across the United States, dancing in Powwows. He was a leader in and out of the arena and he was a World Champion Straight Dancer. Above all else Ralph enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Enjoying meals , telling stories , and laughing together. He attended many wrestling tournaments, football games, Pow-Wows, supporting family in all that interested them. He loved watching the young people play around the house when they came to visit. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents Ralph Sr. and Rachel, as well as a sister Pearle Sue and a brother Bruce Conway .Ralph is survived by his wife, Susan Haymond, his son André, as well as sisters Karen Haymond, Sharon TaFoya, Sandra Haymond, June Allen, Michelle LeadingFox, and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren.
