Patricia Myers

Patricia "Patsy" Louise Chance Myers was born August 21st, 1931, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Merrill C. Chance, Sr., and Mamie Marie Osborn Chance. On August 25, 2024, she was reunited in Heaven with her husband, Harvey Myers and her 3-year-old sister Carol Ann, brother Merrill and sister Virgnia. Patsy attended Ponca City schools, graduating at the age of 17, after which she was employed by Burns and Associates in Ponca City. It was while working for Burns that she met Orville Harvey Myers, Jr of The Bend in Osage County, on a blind date in 1950. They were married on October 28th, 1951, and lived in Ponca City and Fairfax before permanently establishing their home west of Ralston, Oklahoma.

Before marriage, it was Patsy's goal to attend college at Phillip's University. She was intelligent, competitive and driven. It was her drive that ensured that their four children, Harvey Brent, Kevin, Robin and Bruce were set for a college education. While active in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Pawnee, OK, she took advantage of every opportunity for family to meet visiting Deans and Professors from Phillips University. All 4 of her children took piano lessons, were active in Scouts and 4-H, in church, and in academia. Patsy was an artist who enjoyed oil painting, watercolors, ceramics, making porcelain dolls, counted cross stitch, knitting and crocheting. She hand-knitted Christmas stockings for her children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as grandchildren of her friends. She knitted her 87th (and final) Christmas stocking for great grandchild, Maddox (Stacy) Palmer in 2018. She appreciated music, played the piano and violin, was an avid swimmer and played tennis. She jogged and biked for fitness. She had many close friends from all walks of life and enjoyed visiting with them, whether at the "Knit Shop", the "Doll Shop" or the "Ceramic Shop" and she stayed in touch with her classmates from the Class of 1949, Ponca City High School. Notably she attended her 70th school reunion in May of 2019.

Patsy is survived by her 4 children: Harvey Brent and Linda (Stillwater), Kevin and Susan (Waynesboro, TN), Robin and Cathy (Jeffersonville, IN), and Bruce (Guthrie OK). Her grandchildren: Moriah (Danny), Ryan (Courtney), Michelle (Rian), Nick (Kala), Stacy (Michael), and Julia (Jordan). Her great-grandchildren: Corey and Conner (Moriah); Caroline, Emma, and Annie (Ryan); Colby and Brooklyn (Michelle); Seth, Maddox and Jacob (Stacy); Jackson and Nolan (Nick). She is also survived by 3 great-great grandchildren: Josie, Beckett, and Callen (Moriah/Corey).

Under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home in Pawnee OK, services will be held at a date to be announced at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 210 N 5th St, Ponca City, OK. Interment will be at the Pixley Cemetery in Osage County.
