Mary Frances Cox, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday November 24, 2017 in the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home with her Loving family by her side. Mary was born in Joplin, Missouri to the Boswell family, she was raised and schooled in the Commerce, Oklahoma area graduating from Commerce High School. Mary met and married the love of her life Clyde Cleamond Cox on August 8, 1939 in Neosho, Missouri.
Clyde was a Rock Mason and became an Assembly Of God Minister In Coffeyville, Kansas in 1938, the Family moved several times and then settled in Blackburn, Oklahoma. Mary and Clyde were married 64 years before Clyde passed away in 2004.
Mary and Clyde were dedicated to each other and they were both dedicated to taking care of their family, unselfishly sacrificing themselves for their children. Mary absolutely had to have a clean house, and she always had a servants heart. Shannon held a special place in her heart, Mary always strived to make sure Shannon and the other children had what they needed. Mary loved to do ceramics and knit, and spending time with her family.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories her children; Shannon Cox, Andrew Cox, Priscilla Pickle, Johnny Cox, Judy Bruton, Patsy(Cookie) King, Jeannie Sanford, William (Billy) Cox, and Sue Lamb, numerous grand children and great grand children, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Mary was Preceded in death by her parents and husband Clyde Cox.
Services were held Monday 2:00 P.M. November 27, 2017, graveside in Blackburn Cemetery, Blackburn, Oklahoma with Rev. Lewis Bernard officiating. Services were entrusted to Poteet Funeral Home, friends can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
