Mary Andra, born on August 20, 1950, in Pawnee, OK to John and Ethel (Bowling) Hodges, passed from this life on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Southern Oaks Care Center in Pawnee, OK, at the age of 73.
She completed her eighth-grade education at Lone Jack School in 1964 and proudly earned her high school diploma from Pawnee in 1968. On November 15, 1968, she united in marriage with Wilbur Gene McCray in Masham, OK, and together, they were blessed with three children before parting ways. In 1986, she found love once more with Sammy Gene Price, whom she married on August 18, 2000. Sadly, Sammy Gene passed away on November 10, following a brief battle with cancer.
Throughout her life, Mary devoted her working years to Southern Oaks, where she held various roles and consistently displayed unwavering dedication and pride in her work.
Mary found her greatest joy in the company of her children, grandchildren, and, most notably, her great-grandchildren. She cherished moments spent together, creating lasting memories. Her other passions included watching the Gaither Gospel Hour and any classic Western film she could find on television, and she always loved to be the one to cook for family holiday meals.
Mary is survived by her loving children, Rhonda Kelly, Michael McCray, and Jeana Diamond, as well as her adoring grandchildren, Sarah, Sean, and John Kelly. She leaves behind a legacy of great-grandchildren, Liam, Jaylee, Josslynn, and Amelia Kelly, who brought immeasurable happiness into her life. Mary is also survived by her sisters, Joyce Horner and Elsie Strain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Hodges, and her brother, J.L. Hodges.
A graveside service in memory of Mary Andra will be held on September 20, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Blackburn Cemetery, with Brother Mark Brumfield officiating.
