Martha Anne Ray entered into the presence of her Savior on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023. She was born June 3, 1947 in Pawnee, Oklahoma, to Bert and Bonnie (Van Arsdell) Wilson. She graduated from Pawnee High School in 1965 and continued her education at Central State University. She met her husband of 56 years, Chan, while attending CSU. They lived in Edmond, Choctaw, Boise City and Fairfax, Oklahoma, finally settling in Pawnee where she was an integral part of the community for the next 50 plus years.
Because of her amazing talents, Martha was a dedicated educator teaching students at Pawnee High School, patrons of the Oklahoma Historical Society, quilters and budding artists. She lived her life to the fullest serving others, always pointing them toward Christ. She never really retired and continued to stay busy teaching others. She was a lifelong member of Pawnee First Baptist Church, serving in drama ministry, teaching Bible study, singing in the choir and serving alongside Chan in his ministry.
She is preceded in death by her husband Chan and her parents, Bert and Bonnie Wilson, who lovingly called her Sweetie. She is survived by her brother, Mike Wilson and wife Chris of Pawnee; son, Billy Ray and wife Cheri of Bastrop, Texas; son, Danny Ray and wife Julie of Stillwater. She also leaves behind seven great joys, grandchildren Bailey and Collin Proctor and great-grandson, Erik, of Abilene, Texas; Cassidy Ray of Bastrop, Texas; Danae, Aiden and Eli Ray of Stillwater. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews, foster grandsons, extended family and friends she considered family.
"To know her was to be loved."
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pawnee First Baptist Church for Camp Lela, a place she dearly enjoyed.
