Marian "Mickie" Myrtle (Meyers) Wolfe was born in June 27, 1945 in Vah-Ki, Arizona on the Gila River Indian Community where she was also an enrolled member. Mickie was married to Clyde R. Wolfe at Central Presbyterian Church in Phoenix, Arizona on June 24, 1967. They made their home in Phoenix, Florida, Tucson then back to Phoenix until 1978. In 1979 they moved to Pawnee, Oklahoma to raise their three children, Frank, Shawn, and BJ.While living in Oklahoma, Mickie worked with children as a Teacher's assistant at the Pawnee Head Start, an office worker at the Pawnee food distribution center, a secretary for the professors of the College of Education at Oklahoma State University as well as a receptionist at Pawnee IHS Mental Health department. Mickie graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1964 and graduated from Phoenix College in 1976 with an Associate's Degree in Medical Transcriptionist. She was also a student at Oklahoma State University and just needed one statistics class to graduate from Oklahoma State with a Bachelors in Sociology. Mickie was a member of the Pawnee Indian Baptist Church, the Travelers group, The Pawnee Nation Elders and The Pawnee War Mothers. In addition to local affiliations, Mickie traveled extensively with the Native Praise Women's Choir. One of Mickie's greatest privileges was being a devoted Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) representative for abused & neglected children. Mickie had strong faith in God and with this faith she used her time and energy to lend a helping hand to whoever was in need. To her, there was no such word as "no". She would drive back and forth, by herself to visit her family members in Arizona and at times no one knew she had gone until she got there. Her free joyful spirit and faith in God is what kept her safe and secure to travel alone. Mickie was proceeded in death by her Mother Marian (Meyers) Lewis, and her husband of 36 years, Clyde Wolfe. Mickie is survived by her children, Frank Wolfe of Maricopa, Arizona, Shawn Wolfe Kowaleski of Norman, OK, and BJ Wolfe of Broken Arrow, OK.
