Marce as everyone that knew her called her, was born October 22, 1936 in the home of her grandparents that was located in Kay County Oklahoma between Blackwell and Tonkawa. She was the daughter of Mark and G. Pauline Perez (Snodgrass) of Newkirk OK. Marce graduated from Newkirk High school in 1954, her love for music started at a young age. She played the saxophone in the high school band. After high school she worked at Albrights Abstract in Newkirk, then moved to San Diego CA where she worked at the Marine Corp Base as a secretary. On October 21, 1960 she married her lifelong husband Gene H Welch of Red Rock OK, they were married for 52 years. Soon after their marriage they moved to Red Rock where she was secretary of the Red Rock schools for several years. She really enjoyed the kids and one of their most fond memories was her and her husband sponsoring the senior class trip. Of this marriage they had two children, Mark Edward and Michelle Elaine, as well as nieces and nephews they also considered their own.
