Lorena Harriett Alexander

Lorena Harriett (Johnson) Alexander, 77, was born February 29, 1940, to Marlin (Flea) and Mildred Johnson in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She peacefully passed away in her home on April 27, 2017, in Glenpool, Oklahoma. She was laid to rest at the North Indian Cemetery in Pawnee.Lorena grew up in Pawnee where she was a baton twirler for the school. She later attended Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas. While at Haskell she met James (Pee-Wee) Thompson.  Lorena and James married after graduation and moved to California where they had four children and lived as a military family. She also worked at the post office for several years. Lorena later remarried Jimmy Alexander. The two of them had one child together and made their home in Glenpool, Oklahoma.Lorena enjoyed being around her children and grandchildren, especially having big Thanksgiving dinners in her home. Most of all, she enjoyed playing "Bingo" with her sister Dawnie, and her daughter Bugsy. Lorena was a very loving, caring, and funny mom, grandmother and daughter. She will be dearly missed by many relatives and friends. Lorena is survived by four sons, Marlin (Kayo) and Faron Thompson, of Pawnee; and Jake and Randy Thompson of Tulsa; and Tony and Tricia Alexander of Glenpool; brother, Philly Johnson of Pawnee; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her dog, Penny.Lorena is proceeded in death by her father, Marlin (Flea) Johnson; her mother, Mildred Johnson; sister, Dawn Johnson; brothers Larry and Lawrence Johnson; her only daughter, LaDonna (Bugsy) Thompson; and three dogs, Missy, Micky Doo, and Betty One.Services were held Monday, May 1, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at the Pawnee Nation Roam Chief Event Center with Rev. Duane Pratt and Rev. Warren Pratt Jr. officiating. Interment followed in the North Indian Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
