Llewellyn Christian (Bub) Younge

Llewellyn Christian Younge (Bub) was born in Claremore, Oklahoma to Llewellyn Calvin and Leora Zimmerman Younge in the Fall of 1953. He took his journey on Monday, February 7 in Mulberry, Kansas.


Bubba was a welcomed addition to the Greasy Creek, Watchorn family and especially, proud Grandpa Joseph Thomas Younge, Sr of the Otoe Bear Clan. Bub was given the Otoe name ‘Takes Over The Land’.


Bub enlisted in the U.S. Army shortly after graduating from Moore High School in Moore, Oklahoma. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1974 after which he began employment with Conoco in Ponca City, OK. Bub was most proud of the 10+ years he worked as a Crew Leader/Wildfire Fighter for the U.S. Forestry Department with Ioway and Pawnee all Native crews traveling all over the U.S. Bub was often accompanied by his brothers who were also wildfire fighters.


Bub was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman and often took his younger siblings & nephews on all night fishing trips on the Arkansas River & surrounding hidden fishing holes in Oklahoma and Kansas. He knew the best wild mushroom spots and every Spring had bragging rights on the biggest Bass & most Morels. Bub’s fishing partner most often was his nephew, Zach Christian.


Lew Christian was preceded in death by his infant son, Thomas Younge, whom he never stopped grieving for; father Llewellyn C. Younge, brothers Clay and Lofton Younge, Grandparents, numerous cousins and family.


Bub is survived by his Mother Leora Younge of Arcadia, KS, his children Matthew and Lydia Talley Younge, four brothers, four sisters and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and relatives. Graveside services are
