Lester Henry Sun Eagle was born on August 2nd, 1937, to Geneva Horsechief-Sun Eagle and James Sun Eagle of Pawnee, Oklahoma. He peacefully departed on January 29th, 2024, at the age of 87.Raised in Pawnee, OK, Lester's early years were enriched by his athletic pursuits, where he not only excelled in academics but also showcased his prowess on the football and basketball courts. These experiences instilled in him a sense of discipline and teamwork that he carried into every aspect of his life. After graduating high school, and eager to pursue and further his education, Lester moved to Utah and attended college, where he later earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Intermountain College in Brigham City, Utah. Lester later enlisted in the United States Army, which further attested to his unwavering dedication to duty and country. His service was not only a testament to his patriotism but also a source of pride for his family and friends .Lester's professional career took him on a remarkable path of service to various tribes and companies. He served as a member on various councils and business boards. Notably, serving as Pitahawirata Band Chief, for numerous years. Not only was Lester a man of professional distinction but also a pillar of strength and kindness. His dedication to his work, reflected a meaningful commitment to his tribe and community .Outside the professional realm, Lester was an avid sports fan. His love for sports extended to his pastimes, as he found joy in watching football and basketball games. Often traveling to watch various sports teams. He reveled in the camaraderie, and created lasting bonds with friends and family who admired his warmth and genuine nature. Lester could spark up a conversation with anyone he met. He was a man who loved to tease and joke .Surrounded by a multitude of friends and a loving family, Lester Sun Eagle leaves behind cherished memories. His legacy of dedication and a passion for both work and play will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. As we bid farewell, let us remember and celebrate the remarkable journey of a man whose presence touched the lives of many. May his spirit endure in the memories we hold dear, and may he find eternal peace in the embrace of time .Lester is preceded in death by his parents; James and Geneva Sun Eagle, Brothers: James Archie Sun Eagle , Marvin Sun Eagle, Merton Moore; and son: Leonard Sun Eagle. Lester leaves behind his Children: Kitooks Sun Eagle of Shawnee, OK; Michelle & Bill Lake of Sapulpa, OK; Henry Suneagle of Durango, CO; Russel Sun Eagle & companion Charmin of Broken Arrow, OK Grandchildren: Alicia Sun Eagle, Jamie Sun Eagle, Kyle Sun Eagle, Tawny Sun Eagle , Taurra Sun Eagle, Zach Sun Eagle and Carly Suneagle, Amber HowlingCrane, Nena HowlingCrane, Vance Lake, Kali Lake and numerous great-grandchildren.
