Kenneth O'Dell Rice

Kenneth O’Dell Rice was born in Jay, Oklahoma on November 27, 1929 to Effie C. (Stark) Rice and Joe E. Rice. He was the youngest of nine children. Kenneth passed away on September 28, 2022 in the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.

Kenneth’s youth was spent in and around the Ralston, Oklahoma area. He graduated from Ralston High School in May, 1950.

On April 14, 1951, Kenneth married Norma Lee Forbes in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They celebrated their 71st anniversary in April, 2022.

Their early married life was spent in Ralston and Ponca City. During the mid 60’s , he moved the family to the Masham area. There he farmed, ranched and worked nights at Conoco Oil Company in Ponca City. Kenneth also did carpentry work for friends and neighbors.

He was a member of Pawnee Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He is survived by his wife Norma, his children, Debbie Lee and husband, Ron, son Kent Rice and wife, Jeanette all of Edmond, son, Robert of Ft. Worth, Texas. Also grandchildren, Katie Maes, Alex Rice, Zack Lee, Evan Rice, Lane Rice and Reid Rice. Kenneth has two great grandsons, Braylon and Hudson Maes. Services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 in the Pawnee First Baptist Church at 10 A.M. with Pastor John Coker and Pastor Chan Ray officiating, burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery in Fairfax, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Integris Hospice OKC 5710 NW 130th Street Oklahoma City, OK 73142 Services were entrusted to the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, friends can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
