Kenneth (Billy) Franklin Smith went to be with his Lord Monday August 29, 2016 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid. Kenneth was born January 1, 1925 to Willard and Evelyn (Porter) Smith in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Kenneth was raised in the Pawnee area and graduated from Pawnee High School, he was drafted out of high school to serve his country joining the Oklahoma 45th serving in the Korean War. Kenneth met the Love of his life Luella at the Pawnee Skating Rink where he worked. After serving his country the Smith family moved to Enid where they started a family and celebrated 62 years of marriage. Kenneth was a carpenter by trade and the family owned and operated Smith Cabinet Shop in Pawnee. Kenneth took a position at Vance Air Force Base in the Housing Division of the Carpenter Shop, he retired after 20 plus years. After retirement Kenneth made Yard Ornaments and Christmas Ornaments for he and Luella to enjoy. Kenneth and Luella both loved to work in the yard and taking care of the flowers they both enjoyed. They both loved playing and taking care of their dogs and watching Nascar Racing. Kenneth was a member of the Argone American Legion Post #4 where he was the Sergeant of Arms for many years. He was a member of the Local Carpenter Union for many years, both Kenneth and Luella were members of the Wheat Capital C.B. Club. Kenneth loved to camp and fish with the family. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Luella of 62 years and one son William Leo Smith in 1961 Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories , son; Kenny Smith and companion Karen Reeves all of Enid, grandchildren; Tommy Roney, Michael Roney and Bradley Roney, great grandchildren; Shelby Roney, Hailey Roney, Heston Roney, Christopher Roney, Destiny Roney, Jackson Roney, Madison Roney, and Christian Roney, great great grandson; Grayson Roney. Services were held Friday 1:00 P.M. September 2, 2016 graveside at the Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, Oklahoma with Senior Adult Minister Chan Ray officiating.
