Joyce Helen Layton

Joyce Layton passed from this Earth the morning of October 4, 2019,
surrounded by family and friends.
Joyce was born August 16, 1927 in Osage County to Harvey and Hattie
Fields. Joyce began working at the age of six, picking cotton. She then
went on to working in restaurants at the age of 13.
Joyce met L D Marshall and they were married on August 4, 1946. To this
union they had two daughters and one son.
After her divorce from L D Marshall, she met and married Francis
Layton. Joyce and Francis had one son, Joseph Carl Layton, who passed at
birth. The couple had no other children together.
Joyce worked at the Kumback Cafe for 33 years as a cook. Joyce was
always well known for her famous cinnamon rolls.
In the evenings, Joyce worked as a custodian for the City of Perry for
32 years. She and Francis raised three of her grandchildren together.
She is survived by Linda Marshall Frazier (David); Phyllis Layton Smith
(Pete); sister Fern Kranz (Doug); Pat Layton Jones; Kenneth Layton (Alphreda);
Mike Marshall; David Dyer; Gary Berg; Steven Layton, and many loving
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchilren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Hattie Fields; L D
Marshall; Francis Layton; Joseph Carl Layton; Willie Stickney; Ervin
Layton; Donna Berg; David Layton; Judy Dyer; Eulas Fields; Dink Fields;
and Zelma Fields.

A visitation will be held Sunday, October 6 at Poteet Funeral
Home at 10 a.m.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday, October 8 at 10 a.m. at the
Grace Hill Pavilion. Services have been entrusted to Poteet Funeral
Home of Pawnee, Oklahoma.
