John William Staneart was born on February 20, 1940, to Ralph and Virginia Staneart in Benton Harbor Michigan, growing up in Little Rock Arkansas from age 3 on. He graduated from Central High School in 1957, enlisting in the US Army in 1958. He served in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. After Military service Staneart settled in Arkansas, attending Pine Bluff Technical College, earning a degree in electronics. John married Shirley Nitson in July 1963. They had four sons. Mr. Staneart became Reverend Staneart in 1965, being ordained at the Whiteville Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, later receiving his degree in Bible Languages from the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, Arkansas. Rev. Staneart preached for 40 years, Pastoring in Arkansas, Montana, and Corvallis Oregon.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, four sons, Matthew of Corvallis, (wife Kerri), Steve of Milwaukee, WI (wife Daylene), Mark (wife Wendy) of Lebanon Oregon and Bobby (wife Susan) of Pawnee Oklahoma, 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Pastor John’s life touched hundreds of people and won many souls for the Kingdom of God. Memorial services are pending in Lebanon, Oregon.
