Jerald D Warden

Jerald David Warden, lifelong resident Maramec, Oklahoma, passed away following a accident while working on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the age of 53 years, nine months and ten days.

Jerald was born September 1, 1961, in Pawnee, Oklahoma.  He was the son of John E. and Julia June (Raper) Warden.  As a young boy Jerald was raised and began attending school in Maramec.  He later began attending school in Pawnee following the first grade.  Jerald graduated from Pawnee High School.  During his time in high school Jerald attended the Meridian Technology Center in Stillwater where he learned the trade of a diesel mechanic.  Following the completion of his education Jerald began working in oil field where he worked until the down turn in the oil industry.  He later accepted employment with Pawnee Country District 1 where he worked until September of 2006.  In 2006, Jerald began working for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation where he was currently employed.

Jerald was a major part of the Maramec Fire Department.  He began as a firefighter and later promoted up to the Chief position of the Fire Department.  Jerald worked tireless and countless hours helping others in need as well as making sure that the vehicles were ready to respond on a moment's notice.  He was also a well-known and liked person in the firefighting community because of his drive to help others while in need.  In November of 2012, Jerald retired from the Maramec Fire Department, but always kept tabs on what was going on just in case he was needed.

Jerald loved NASCAR and Sooner Football.  He loved going to NASCAR events and watching the Sooners on TV.  He was also dedicated to his parents when they became ill.  He was there every day making sure the two had what they needed.  Following the death of his father Jerald would take two meals each day to his mother attending to her every need.  It is also known that Jerald loved to do Steve Martin impersonations and was very good at it.  Jerald was a longtime member of the Maramec Baptist Church.  He also made sure that you knew that he loved you.  Jerald, John and Janell always had a special bond between them that no one could break.
