Jake F. Fischer

Jacob "Jake" Franklin Fischer, 81, died November 30, 2019 at Claremore, Oklahoma.
The son of Benjamin and Ruth Long Fischer was born on April 4, 1938 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Following graduation from Pawnee High School, Jake completed an Associate of Science, Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Education at Oklahoma State University. While in Colorado he taught for Denver Public Schools, Jefferson County Public Schools, and Metropolitan State College. In Oklahoma he taught for Okmulgee Public Schools and Central Area Vo-Tech in Drumright. After 30 years working as a teacher and administrator in public education, Jake retired January 3, 1995.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 57 of years, Ruth, of the home; one daughter, Carol Lynn McMurtrey and husband Robert of Carl Junction, Missouri; one son, John Edward Fischer and wife Gerlynnda of Eureka, Missouri, five grandchildren, Hailey Nicole McMurtrey, Tanner Wayne McMurtrey, Jodi Gabrielle Fischer, Jessica Grace Fischer, and Jackelyn Greer Fischer.
