Herbert John Rice

Herbert John Rice “Ut-Kasis” was born on June 5th, 1941 to Robert Peter Rice and Christine Little Sun Hand Rice, he was a full-blood Pawnee, Skidi Band. Herb was a Painter by trade and his jobs took him traveling all over the United States as a young adult. Later in his life he met Mabel Beard and built a life together until her passing. Herb worked in Pawnee as a housekeeper and retired from the Pawnee Nation.
Herb was full of life and laughter, he is best known for his sense of humor and entertaining antics. He loved taking care of his lawn and being with his friends and family. Herb loved the casino, he was often good at winning, and visiting with everyone.
Herb is preceded in eternity by his mother and father, his companion, Mabel Beard and His brothers, Robert Rice, Lawrence Rice, Dennis Rice, Manuel Ceaser, and his sisters, Sharon Rice, Rebecca Sinkar, and Wanda Rice.
Herb is Survived by his sister Mollie Davidson, of the home, and his brother Keller Roaming Warrior of Pawnee. He is survived by his son, Lorenzo “Bo” Beard and wife Pam, of Moore, Gilbert Beard and wife Dana of Pawnee, daughters, Sharon Kay Beard of Pawnee, Louise and Haeli Stevens of Pawnee, and Stepdaughter, Robin “Suzi” Pickering of Pawnee. Grandpa Herb was blessed to be survived by numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
