Harry Pickering Jr.

Harry “Harry O” Pickering Jr. was born in Pawnee, OK, on September 13, 1953 to Harry Pickering Sr. and Teresa Tohee Pickering. He was a proud member of the Otoe tribe.

Harry attended schools in the Pawnee School System and lived in the Pawnee area most of his life. He served in the 45th infantry of the National Guard for six years.


He married Helen Horsechief on June 7, 1998. There were no children born of this union but together they raised foster children. Harry O was an avid fan of the Pawnee Black Bears and the Oklahoma Sooners.


Harry O is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Harry David Pickering and Vernon Tohee; three sisters Burba Pickering, Clarice Pickering Phillips, and Kathy Pickering Moffer. He is survived by his wife Helen of the home; three brothers Bryce Pickering and Roger Pickering both of Pawnee and Kenneth Tohee of Taos, NM; two sisters Norma Jean Tohee of Red Rock and Billie Ann Tohee of Perkins; one son Benjamin Butler of Cushing and step daughter Robyn Horsechief of Oklahoma City; foster children Samantha Hall-Zotigh of Ponca City, Angella Hall-Zotigh of Oklahoma City, Ambresa “Beet” Hall-Zotigh of Blackburn, Landreth “Boy” Harrison of Pawnee; and, a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
