Glenda Sue Townsend was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, December 20,1942 to John D. and Georgia Ann (Christie) Tincher. Sue grew up in Tahlequah near Highway 10 where she graduated from Tahlequah High School, then she continued her education at Northeastern State University for three years, then she met and married Jack Townsend on June 8,1963. They moved to Tonalea, Arizona and then to Red Lake, Arizona, out of this union they had two sons James and Joe Don Townsend. The family moved to Pawnee in 1971 where Sue started working as a teacher's aide in 1973 and worked for Pawnee Public schools till 1997, when she retired.
She was known as Miss. Sue, and was loved by all of the students, she loved supporting all the sports in Pawnee schools, she loved Oklahoma State University sports , she enjoyed traveling and going to Branson, Missouri, and she helped for many years with the Junior Miss Pageant. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pawnee.
She was preceded in Death by her grandparents and her dad John D. and her mom Georgia Tincher and brother Billy Joe Tincher.
She is survived by her husband of almost 57 years Jack Townsend, two sons James Townsend and Connie Barlow, Joe Don and wife Sandra Townsend. She has two grand children Whitley and Haley Townsend, and one step-grand son Wesley. She also had two great grandchildren, Sister in law Lou Ann Tincher and Cousin Robert Christie and many nieces and nephews ,many friends and former students who will miss her greatly.

Family Viewing will be Wednesday June 3, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Services will be held Thursday 10:00 A.M. June 4, 2020 in the Pawnee First Baptist Church with Senior Adult Minister Chan Ray officiating. Services were entrusted to the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, friends can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
