Floyd Phillip Mitchell passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the age of 70. He was born to James R Mitchell and Patricia J Mitchell (Niccum) in Pawnee, OK in February 28, 1950. Phillip was the oldest of three children. He grew up in Pawnee attending Pawnee High, graduation in 1969. After graduation he went to technical school to learn electronics repair. He served six years in the Army National Guard.
Phillip married Virginia Kelley in February 1971. Of this union Eric, Michael and Aaron were born. Phillip and Virginia later divorced.
Phillip and his family moved to Nebraska in1980 where he spent most of his career working for Blue Valley Foods. In 2006 Phillip moved back to Pawnee to help take care of his mother.
Phillip enjoyed hunting, fishing and teaching his sons and grandsons the outdoors. He was always taking his family target shooting.
Phillip is survived by sons: Eric P Mitchell and wife Mary Mitchell of Gilead NE, Michael Mitchell and wife Liz of Pawnee, OK. Five grandchildren Colby Holtzen-Mitchell of Bruning NE, Jarred Mitchell and Austin Mitchell of Pawnee OK, Michelle Campbell of Lincoln NE, Charlie Mitchell of Gilead, NE. Two great grandchildren: Kyson Holtzen-Mitchell and Lori Ann Campbell both of NE. Sister Patricia Burns of Stillwater, brother James O Mitchell of Hera OK. Two uncles Mark Mitchell of Yale OK,and George and Marcine Mitchell of Fairbury NE.
Phillip is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents James and Patricia Mitchell and infant son Aaron.
