Ethel Juanita Hanger, 89, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday September 21, 2016, at the Primrose Assisted Living Center in Stillwater, with her Loving family by her side. Ethel was born August 15, 1927 in Skiatook, Oklahoma, she was raised by her grandmother Cal Burns, and attended school in Cleveland, Oklahoma graduating from Skedee High School in 1946. Ethel was united in marriage to the love of her life Leslie Hanger August 16, 1947 in Perry, Oklahoma. Ethel was a longtime employee of Cheatham's Department Store and an excellent seamstress. Ethel loved to cook special dishes for the children and grand children and was known for her homemade Chocolate Syrup. Ethel enjoyed watching the Game Show Network especially Family Feud and The Wheel of Fortune, and playing Wahoo. Leaving to cherish Ethel's memories are her children; Charlie Hanger and wife Beverly of Perry, Oklahoma, Sandie Moorman and her husband Craig of Leedey, Oklahoma, four grand children; Jennifer Williams and her husband Ben of Edmond, Oklahoma, Lisa Paul and her husband Dan of Marietta, Georgia, Miranda Moorman of Washington D.C. and Mason Moorman of Stillwater, Oklahoma, four great grand children; Emma and Preston Williams, Anderson and Jackson Paul, sister in law's Lorene Skidgel of Moore, Oklahoma, Beverly Bohlier and husband Bill of Oklahoma City,Oklahoma and brother in law Jack Russell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, nieces; Robin Russell, Gloria Nunn, Lori Fuller, Michelle Taylor, nephews Lee Roy Russell and Steve Skidgel, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents Speck and Frances (Burns) Dobson, husband Charles Leslie Hanger, grand mother Cal Burns, sister Pauline Russell, brother Billy "Red" Ellis, grandson Charles Andrew Hanger, and nephew Max Skidgel. The Family wishes to thank Special Friends and Extended Family, Lee and Deborah Mallin, Primrose Assisted Living Center and the staff of Judith Karman Hospice for helping to take great care of Ethel. Services were Monday September 26, 2016 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Pawnee, with Pastor John Coker and Senior Adult Minister Chan Ray officiating, internment followed in the Highland Cemetery in Pawnee under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
