Ernest G. Gripe

Ernest G. Gripe passed away at his home in Nash, Oklahoma June 12, 2019, with his loving family by his side. Ernest was born February 13, 1934 in the Maramec Oklahoma area to Millard N. and Hazel (Willis) Gripe. Ernest graduated from Maramec High School, he then spent a year in Pueblo, Colorado to become a Depot Agent/Telegraph Operator for the Santa Fe Railroad. Ernest was a collector of Railroad Memorabilia, loved woodworking, crafts and was Beekeeper for many years. Ernest was very community minded volunteering in many capacities in the Nash Community including the1st Southern Baptist Church and the Nash Fire Department serving as Chief. He loved his family and loved spending time with them.



Ernest is survived by the love of his life Billie Joyce(Wise) Gripe, two sons; Roger Gripe and wife Brenda of Enid, Oklahoma, Mike Gripe and wife Sammie of Nash, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Kaylee (Gripe) Haug and husband Travis of Manhattan, Kansas, Andrea (Gripe) Gensky and Husband Sean of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Lindsay (Gripe) Sandoval of Crum, Texas, Jerod Gripe and wife Erika of Denton, Texas, four great grandchildren, six step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, one brother Bob Gripe, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.



Preceding Ernest in death were his parents, one brother Buddy Gripe, and one sister Lola (Gripe) Robinson.



Services will be held graveside Saturday 2:00 P.M. June 15, 2019 in the I.O.O.F Maramec Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Wagner officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. till 12:00 P.M. in the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel. Services were entrusted to the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the family requests in Lieu of flowers please donate memorials to the First Southern Baptist Church in Nash, Oklahoma or the Nash Fire Department.
