Dorothy Anna Sorrels

Dorothy Anna Sorrels, 82, passed away Monday the 29th of October at her residence in Stillwater. Dorothy was born June 8, 1936 in Altus, Arkansas to Clarence E. and Margaret (Rafkahr) Brashears. She attended school in Branch, Arkansas graduating from the 10th grade. At 16 years Dorothy and her cousin moved to Pawnee and they found jobs, Dorothy starting waitressing at the Graham Hotel, she met a man Clifford Sorrels and they decided to get married after the third date. The happy couple started their family in Pawnee, and then they moved to Corning, California. The family moved back to Oklahoma years later, Clifford passed away October 2, 2011. Dorothy decided to get her G.E.D. and she achieved that at the age of 51. Dorothy never met a stranger she loved to meet and talk with people, she loved to crochet, knit, read books, she loved animals, and cooking, but mostly she loved her family and spending time with them.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters; Donna Sorrels, Brenda Brunson, and Barbara Hendricksen and husband Dale, seven grand children; Jennifer Vrana, Jessica Allen, Paula Leck, Alan Roeder, Brandon Hendricksen, Kevin Alexander, and Sarah Alexander. eight great grand children, two brothers Donald Brashears and Everett Brashears, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, and two daughters Carol English and Jo Ann Shurgartt. Services were held Graveside Friday 2:00 P.M. November 2, 2018 in the Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, with Father Emmanuel Nduka officiating.
