Donald L Guthrie

 Donalds heavenly father called him home Thursday September 12, 2024 to sit beside him. 

 Donald Leroy Guthrie was born September 21,1941 the 5th child of Edward F Guthrie & Ora Bell (Casey) Guthrie at Skedee, OK.

 He graduated from Pawnee High School with the class of 1960.

 Donald married Mildred (Lytle) Guthrie on June 30,1962. On August 20,1963 they welcomed their only child Jeffery Wayne Guthrie.

 They moved to Tulsa and Don worked for Otasco until 1980 when they moved back to Pawnee and opened Guthrie’s Tank Service which Don and his son operated it until oil fell.

 Don then went to work for Farmers Oil Co. and retired after 25 years on September of 2017.

 Besides spending time with family Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow skiing and playing golf. But most of all he enjoyed the Saturdays that he and his son were putting lights on his truck. Next to that, fishing with his father in law Merle Lytle and spending time at the lake and skiing with the church.

 They moved to Colcord, OK in December 2017 after retiring to be closer to their granddaughter.

 Don is survived by his wife Mildred of the home, Son Jeff and wife Peggy, two grandchildren Joshua Guthrie and  Amber Dawn and (Ray) Foster. 2 Great Grandchildren Hunter and Colton. Sister-n-law Evelyn Calkins and 1 brother Bill and wife Twila Guthrie. Along with a host of nephews and nieces.

 Don is preceded in death by his father and mother Ed & Ora Guthrie, a sister and brother- in- law Bob & Dorothy Tague. Two brothers and sister- in- laws Tooter and Peggy Guthrie and Bobby and Anetta Guthrie. One brother- in- law John Calkins and one grandson Christopher Alan.

 Memorial services will be held at the First Assembly of God Church in Pawnee on Saturday September 21, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Kirby Stevens officiating. Final resting place will be Highland Cemetery in Pawnee.
