Dixie Lee Adams was born Feb. 19,1940. She passed from this life on Jan. 16,2023 to be with her Lord Savior. Dixie was very self motivated and at the age of 16 moved from Watchhorn to Pawnee. She rented a apartment above Cheathams Department Store and went to work for Dick Vance's Cafe. Soon after she meet J.T. Adams. They married on Oct. 1, 1956. She was co-owner of the Sonic with brother-in-law David Castleberry of Elk City. She retired from the Sonic after 20 yrs. Not only was she a great mother and wife but she also took Ellen Miller under her wing and cared for her in her final days. Words can't describe how much we all loved her and how much she will be missed. We can do no great things in life only small things with great love. That describes our mother.
Survivors are her husband J.T Adams of 66 yrs
Her daughter Donna Peters and husband John of Tulsa and their son Steven Peters of Rockport,Tx. Her son Rick Adams of Morrison and his two sons Stacey Adams of Pawnee and Dustin Adams and his wife Jessica of South Dakota. Brother John Whitlow and his wife Neta of Morrison and sister Loretta Timmons of Pueblo, Co.
Dixie was preceded in death by her father and mother John E Whitlow (Buck) and Roberta.
Sisters Barbara Hesser and Wilda Castleberry.
