Dianne Cottrell

Dianne Cottrell, 67, of Pawnee, Okla. passed from this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in her home surrounded by her four daughters, their husbands, and many of her grandchildren after a battle with cancer. She was born on October 29, 1951 in Ringgold, Louisiana to RT and Carmen Rowell. Dianne was a longtime resident of Pawnee, Oklahoma. She married Frank Cottrell in 1978 and was later divorced. She was a longtime member of the Pawnee First Assembly of God Church and lived a very faithful and spiritual life.
For many years Dianne worked for United Community Action Program where she was the Executive Administrative Assistant. She served on many local boards and committees where she devoted much of her time advocating for local citizens in need. She had a true servant’s heart and was very compassionate in nature. Many people loved her exceptional advice.
Dianne enjoyed napping, foot rubs, back scratches and watching television, especially CNN politics and murder mysteries. Gardening and taking trips with her work family were some of her favorite past times. She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Granny” and she loved them each unconditionally. She is survived by her four daughters, Beverly and husband Jimmy Jestes of Pawnee, OK, Dana and husband Garland Stewart of Pawnee, OK , Secrett and husband Thomas Broom of Jal, NM, Tasha and husband Clay Thompson of Pawnee, OK, her grandchildren, Jaime and husband Zac Maltsberger and their six children, JT Jestes and significant other Louise Stevens and daughter Haeli Stevens, Jaelyn Jestes, Darian Stewart and his two children, Unique Stewart, Annie Stewart, Feather Broom, Mason Broom, Kegan Ryan and significant other Kathy Woodie and their four children, Julie Thompson and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Dianne is preceded in death by her mother, father, a sister, Edwina Rowell, and two brothers, Overton Vernon Rowell and Sylvester Thomas Rowell.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 19, 2019 and Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Poteet Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019 at Pawnee First Assembly of God with Rev. James Eubanks and Pastor Kirby Stevens officiating.
