Clarence Dale Christy, 84 died Tuesday, July 19, 2022. He was born May 29, 1938 in the Big Bend Area west of Ralston OK. Clarence was the second born of nine children to Homer William and Clara Thelma (Miller) Christy.
On December 19, 1959 he married Mary Lois Whitson in the Big Bend. They were married 51 years and to this union two daughters, Tammie Marlene and Pamela Dale were born. Mary preceded Clarence in death in 2011.
On September 1, 2018 Clarence married Billie Foster in Enid, OK.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Billie, daughters Tammie Gerhard and husband Dennis of Bixby OK and Pam Weber of League City, Texas, three granddaughters, Kyra Chow and husband Tim, Hope Strait and husband Matt and Rebecca Drennan and husband Tom, and two great grandchildren Hannah and Nathan Chow, his sisters, Bonnie Wood and husband Carroll of Tonkawa, Glenda Garrison of Branson Missouri and Mary Wright of Tonkawa OK, brothers Homer Christy and wife Sharon of Enid OK and Joe Christy and wife, Elsie of Belton Texas and many, many nieces and nephews.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Clara Christy, wife Mary, son, David Christy, brothers Wayne Christy, John Christy and sister, Lila Pruett
Clarence was a builder and master carpenter. You can travel throughout Oklahoma and see his building legacy. Some of you might recognize are the original Atwoods in Enid, Mexico Joe’s in Stillwater, the underground home near Pond Creek, the Swimming Pool in Blackwell, schools, churches and homes. He was a son, brother, husband, father, Grandpa and above all, a hard working, honorable man. He loved family, fishing, camping and watching ball games. He never missed a game or any other extra curricular activity during his daughters school life. Basketball, Softball, Band, Cheerleading, Track, if his daughters participated, then him and Mary were there to support them. He joked that if asked, we were supposed to volunteer him. He will be missed.
