Christa Ivana Pratt
Christa Ivana Pratt was born on October 27, 1978 in Chandler, Ok., to Rick Haught and Carolyn Brown. She passed away on June, 26, 2024. She was 45 years old. She was raised and attended school in Lawrence, KS. While there, she met and married Warren “Jr” Pratt. She became an instant mother and pastor’s wife. She helped Jr serve churches in Lawrence, KS, Pawnee, OK, Mannford, OK and his present church in Cushing, OK. She played guitar and led music in many services. She traveled across the country as a part of many mission teams.
She was a graduate of Northern Oklahoma College and was certified in Early Childhood Development. She ran the Pawnee Nation Childcare Center for 9 years. She was self-employed having started the Wolf Star Printing business. Having been raised in Lawrence, KS, she was an avid KU Jayhawk fan and an adopted Sooner fan. Christa loved to cook and was well known for her frybread. She won the Pawnee Tribal Employee Frybread contest. As the main bread maker for her husband, she fed many, many Tribal members during mourning times.
After her church life, her greatest joy in life were her children and grandkids. Along with her two older girls, she and Jr had three children. She sewed camp dresses, fancy shawl outfits, ribbon shirts, fancy dance aprons and beaded moccasins for them. She attended their sporting events, school activities, church camps and many other activities. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She could speak German, understand Pawnee, and was one test away from her black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Many times, she beat her husband up during sparring matches. She was a special lady and mother that carried many skills. She never backed away from a challenge or learning new skills.
She was preceded in death by her mother Carolyn Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Jr, children, Cora, Adam and Andy all of the home in Pawnee. Also, Christina and husband, Arthur Attocknie and Anna and husband Chris Hodson all of Pawnee. Sisters, Aaron Arnold and husband Paige of Tulsa, Charity Rench and husband Daniel of Topeka, KS, Janon Rausch and husband Derek of Shawnee, KS, and Rev. Josh Haught and wife Stephanie of Altus, OK. Also special sisters/friends Denise Murie, Lawanda Duckworth, Lesley Pratt and Kristie Wolf Norris, plus her father Rick Haught of Lawrence, KS, and many other relatives and friends. She will also be missed by her special “lap children,” Pakoos” the dog and “Wisu” the cat.
In honor of her final wishes Christa’s remains will be spread over the waters in Hawaii where she had several close friends and relatives.
