Cecil Maxwell Deroin

Cecil Maxwell DeRoin, 76, resident of Red Rock, OK passed away Saturday, September 3rd, peacefully in his home. The family requested no public viewing. A chapel service will be held Wednesday, September 7th at 2pm at Poteet Funeral Home in Pawnee, OK. Burial will immediately follow at the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Cemetery. Casket bearers are Lynn DeRoin, Justin DeRoin, Franky DeRoin, Justin Jefferson, Cory DeRoin, and Tyson Jones, with honorary bearers Alvin Moore, Farris Graham, and Reuben Battiste DeRoin.Cecil was born October 29, 1939 to Reuben DeRoin and Edna Moore in Pawnee, OK. He attended school in Red Rock, OK where he spent most of his life. Over the years, Cecil was a drag car racer, cross country truck driver, and race horse trainer. Most recently, Cecil was a heavy equipment operator for the Otoe Missouria Development Authority. In 1983, he married Sandy Graham and they spent 33 beautiful, eventful years together. Cecil loved playing, coaching, and watching softball. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, outdoor activities, watching his favorite program Fox News and spending time with his family.Survivors include his wife Cassandra (Sandy) DeRoin, son Cecil (Lynn) DeRoin and wife Tina of Red Rock, daughter Lesa DeRoin of Perry, daughter Kimberly Jones and husband Tyson of Newkirk, son Justin DeRoin and wife Rachel of Ponca City, and son Franky DeRoin and Jordan of Stillwater; grandchildren Dustin, Lindsey, Robert, Justin, Cash, Cory, Dani, Darci, Shayna, Kason, Alika, and Henley; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous siblings, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Reuben, sister Marvel, and little buddy Dakota.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview Ave, Ponca   City, OK 74601.
