Brett Mathew Ivers was born on October 8th, 1956 in Pawnee, OK to Darwin "Don" Peters and Rosanna Norman Peters of Pawnee, OK. Brett was originally named John D. Peters at birth. Brett was adopted in 1957 by Paul and Mary Ivers of Ponca City, OK where he lived his entire life. Brett grew up with a passion to ride and race motorcycles. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1974. Brett worked within the family business at Ivers Cycles and later in life retired from Titus HVAC both in Ponca City. Brett had two daughters, Trisha and Lindsey with his first wife and then in 1984 he married Terri Mardis Ivers and the two of them spent 36 years together until Terri passed in 2020. Brett reconnected with his biological family in the early 1980's and discovered he had 11 biological brothers and sisters. Brett was known to have a love for his family, music, guitars, music memorabilia, motorcycles, corvette, and Elvis Presley. He lived his entire life full of compassion, love, and kindness for everyone. Later in life Brett enjoyed spending time with his companion, Michelle Palmer of Ponca City and the two of them would spend hours talking, laughing, and going on adventures.
Brett is survived by his daughter, Trisha Johnson, her husband Jack Johnson of Ponca City, OK and 6 grandchildren, Chelsea Womack and companion, Christian Metzen of Wichita, KS, Austin Womack of Paris, TX, Abigail Johnson and companion, Jerry Ackerman of Enid, OK, Lathan and Lakota Johnson of Ponca City, OK, and Taylor Nightengale and companion, Mackenzie Gnapp of Enid, OK.
Brett is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, Liam and Landon Ackerman of Enid, OK, and Cambrie Weiser and Oliver Metzen of Wichita, KS.
Brett is also survived by 7 biological siblings, Darwina Blanchard (sister) of Tulsa, OK, Diana Only A Chief (sister) and companion, Billy Bamm Brown of Tahlequah, OK, Donna Howell (sister) of Pawnee, OK, Walter E. Peters (brother) of Pawnee, OK, Stella Robinson (sister) and her husband, John Robinson of Tulsa, OK, John Only A Chief (brother) of Los Angeles, CA, Belynda Sosa (sister) and her husband, Larry Sosa of Oklahoma City, OK.
Brett is also survived by his sister in law, Kim Dively and her husband, Kent Dively of Ponca City, OK, brother in laws Richard Mardis of Oklahoma City, OK and Howie Mardis and companion, Pam Wilcox of Oklahoma City, OK.
Brett is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors as he was associated and loved by so many.
Brett is proceeded in death by his wife, Terri Ivers, daughter, Lindsey Nightengale, biological parents, Darwin "Don" Peters and Rosanna Norman Peters, adoptive parents, Paul and Mary Ivers, and biological siblings, Billy Peters, Norman Peters, Marilyn Peters, and James Peters.
Brett returned to the stars and was called home by God on April 15th, 2025 with his family surrounding him with the same love and compassion he showed to everyone throughout his entire life.
