Billy Wayne Hedges

Billy Wayne Hedges passed away at his home on February 20, 2018 at the age of 63 years. Billy was born on November 5th, 1954 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to his parents, Pat and Betty (Holler) Hedges. He graduated from Pawnee High School in 1973. He attended Indian Meridian Technical School and was certified in small engine repair in 1989. He worked in construction and as a roughneck in the oilfield for a few years before accepting a position with the City of Pawnee eventually becoming the sexton where he worked for over 30 years.
Billy loved to hunt and fish, traveling to Colorado, Wyoming, and Kansas for large game hunts with his family and friends. He loved to ride his Harley, shoot pool, and cut up with his friends and coworkers. He loved Elvis, Tom Petty, and was a lifelong Dallas Cowboy fan. Billy loved lake life and taught many people to water ski at the Pawnee Lake. He had a generous spirit that impacted the lives of everyone in the community.
Billy is survived by his mother, Betty Chadwell of Pawnee; his daughter and son-in-law, Randi (Ann) and Jake Thompson of Tulsa; his son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Amy Hedges of Pawnee; his brother, Randy Hedges of Pawnee; his sister Cathy Dickens of Stillwater; four grandchildren: London Thompson, Aspen, Raynee, and Wyatt Hedges; numerous extended family including nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins, and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Pat Hedges.
A celebration of life is being held at the Event Center at the Pawnee Lake Rodeo Grounds at 2pm on Friday February 23, 2018. Memorial donations may be made at Armstrong Bank in Pawnee, Oklahoma to the Billy Hedges Memorial Fund for his favorite charity.
