Billy Jack Harrison was born on June 24, 1982 to parents Dorothy Harrison and Maxwell McKinney in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Billy Jack was named after the main character in the 1971 movie Billy Jack. He was a wanderer, a thinker, extremely stubborn, and a big joker. Billy was such a talented artist and could cool almost anything! Billy grew up around Stillwater and Cushing OK areas with four of his siblings. He was adventurous although sometimes a little too much, and was tough but secretly had a kind heart. Although there were many struggles and hardships throughout his life, Billy Jack was able to obtain his GED. He met and dated Christina York with whom his only son, Donavan Blake Gaylord, was born. He loved dogs, playing disk golf, and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Billy was a member of the Cherokee Nation but was also very proud of his Otoe-Missouria heritage. Later in life was employed with OMDA then Hughes Lumber for the past year and was excited to be employee if the month. He met his wife, April Tiger, fell in love and loved her unconditionally until the day he died. Billy Jack passed from this world into the next on Monday January 14th, 2019 at the age of 36 due to complications derived from the flu. Billy was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Maxwell, maternal grandparents Mary Hall and Roy Griffin, both paternal grandparents Lawson McKinney and Mary Jane Robedeaux , and his sister Priscilla. He is survived by his son Donavan, step-children Jordan and John Hamilton of Oklahoma City, John and Zena Deere of Oklahoma City, Olene Jeans of Ponca City, Winston Jeans of Ponca City, his wife April, siblings Jackie McKinney, Joy Williams, Robert McKinney, Ben McKinney, Marty McKinney, Troy Harrison, Shelly Harrison, Michael Harrison, and Laticia Harrison. Plus many step-grandchildren four of which he was close to Alayna, Henry, Gerald Pappan lll, Augustine Pappan, and Baby John Hamilton and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Billy Jack was very loved and will be extremely missed by all who knew him .Per his request, Billy Jack will be cremated with half of his ashes laid to rest with his father at the Otoe-Missouria Cemetery in Red Rock, OK and half with his mother at historic Flynn Cemetery in Cushing, OK at a later date.
