Bill Burnett

Bill Burnett, age 60 years, passed away on Wednesday 9/27/2017 from heart complications at his home in Collinsville, OK.

Bill was born on February 28th, 1957 in Hardin, Montana to Ty and Edith Burnett. Bill married Pamela Files on June 6, 1988. He worked in the financial industry as his official occupation but spent just as much time working his land tending to his cattle and crops. Many that knew Bill met him through business but those relationships quickly turned into lifelong friendships. Bill was an expert at “shooting the bull” and could out do the best of them with his stories.

Bill spent his earlier years in Horton, KS and Pawnee, OK along with living in Hominy, OK and Collinsville, OK. Bill was in the early stages of planning his dream home in Horton, KS when he passed.

Bill is survived by: his son, West and his wife Tracey of Broken Arrow, OK; his daughter Michelle and her husband Devin of Edmond, OK; his grandchildren: Finley, Jude, Evelyn and Merritt; 2 sisters: Linda Burnett of Longmont, CO and Rayma Biglane and her husband Pat of Newburgh, NY; 1 brother Mike Burnett and his wife Sharon of Amarillo, TX and a host of family and friends.


Bill was preceded in death by his wife Pamela and his parents, Ty and Edith Burnett of Pawnee.

The funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Pawnee on Monday, October 2nd at 1:00PM with Senior Adult Minister Chan Ray officiating. Family, friends and loved ones can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com.
