On a Joyful Day in July 28, 1933 a beautiful baby girl was born to Mr. Henry and Mrs. Georgia Calvert in Terlton, Oklahoma. Her name was chosen to be Betty Lenora Calvert. She received her education in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Betty received the Lord at a young age. She had 6 children Mary Anne Cain, Earnest Johnson, Charles (Barlow) Tubbs, Paul Tubbs, Donald Tubbs, and Robin Tubbs.
In 1954 she married Wilbert Tubbs and from this union had 4 boys. Later in 1969 she then married Clemy Bell, who brought 4 to the children union, Mitchell, Ricky, Timmy , and Sandra. Betty also helped raise Mrs. Catherine Colbert Cain “Cat”, Alexia Bibbs, Cedrick Johnson and Donald Tubbs Jr. “Don Don”.
Betty’s hobbies were fishing, listening to Christian Praise Music, listening to Mariah Carey and collecting Frogs.
Betty labored as a Domestic and later became a Medication Nurse. Everyone called her “Aunt Betty” due to the kindness, caring, loving Spirit she had. She attended Emmanuel Church of God in Christ in Pawnee, Oklahoma until her health began to fail. It gave her great joy when her grandkids would come visit her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert Tubbs, her husband Clemy Bell, mother Georgia Calvert, dad Henry Calvert, sisters, JoAnn, Catherine, Annebell, Ester, Edith, Beatrice and Rose, brothers, Henry Jr., Gene Calvert Sr. and Frank Calvert Sr. and children, Mary Anne, Paul and Robin.
She leaves to Cherish her memories, Earnest Johnson and Lisa Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK, Charles (Barlow) Tubbs of Tulsa, OK, Donald Tubbs & wife Tammy Tubbs of Tulsa, OK, Cindy Tubbs of the late Robin Tubbs of Ponca City, OK, Precious Holloway of the late Paul Tubbs and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Family and Friends.
Services will be held Saturday 2:00 P. M. December 22, 2018 in the Pawnee Nation Roam Chief Event Center with Rev. Kenneth Anderson and Frank Calvert Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma. Services were entrusted to the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, friends can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
