Jewel (Dodgins) Harrison went to be with her Lord and Savior, December 30, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Jewel was born June 30, 1914 in Piney, Oklahoma near Stilwell in Adair County, to Dr. Lawrence and Anna Pauline (Burgess) Dodgins. She met Joseph Warren Harrison at a barn dance and they were married January 24, 1931 in Pawnee and had 46 years together before he passed in 1977. Five children were born to them: Joseph Warren, Jr. who is deceased: John of Port Wentworth, GA.; Jim Harrison of Kaysville, UT; Donna Bradley of Mannford and Fannie Taulman of Perry. Jewel has lived in Oklahoma her entire life except when family went to California in the 40s, she remembers family trips back to California in October for family birthdays. She also traveled to Florida and Georgia. Her family moved from Piney to a farm near Pawnee when she was eleven. Pawnee Lake now covers the family farm Jewel attended country schools in Piney and Pawnee through the seventh grade. Jewel worked as a housekeeper for various families around Pawnee, she loved quilting and canning and always entered several things in the Pawnee County Fair. Jewel loved Fried Chicken, Country and Western Music, and volunteering at the First Baptist Church, she was a member of the Quilt Club. Jewel was inducted as a Centenarian Of Oklahoma on October 10, 2017 at the age of 103.
