“Wishy” Albert Alan Lorentz, Jr., was born September 23, 1966, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Albert Alan Lorentz, Sr. and Lula Allen Berryhill and passed away on August 27, 2021. He is survived by his brothers Greg Berryhill and James Berryhill. He was Pawnee, Wichita, Euchee and an enrolled member of the Sac and Fox Tribe. He was adopted by his grandparents, Opal “Peters” and Kenneth “Uppit” Goodeagle.
Wishy graduated with his Associate of Arts degree in American Indian Studies in 2018, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in American Indian Studies from Pawnee Nation College in 2020. At the time of his death, he was pursuing his master’s degree at OSU. In addition to these accolades, he received awards for Volunteer of the Year and Outstanding Leadership from Pawnee Nation College as well as a certificate of completion from the Pawnee Nation Gardener Program.
Wishy worked for thirty years as a bricklayer and most recently worked as the Resident Intern Gardener at Pawnee Nation College for the past four years and as a volunteer with the Americorps Vista program for three years. He also served with the Pani-O project for four years.
In his youth, Wishy was an elite track and field runner and a champion fancy dancer. He was a dedicated OU Football fan and enjoyed going to concerts with Marcella, particularly Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marcella and their four daughters Randee Marks of Wichita, KS; Jasmine Lorentz of Pawnee, OK; Melanee Lorentz of Jenks, OK; and Desiree Lorentz of Carnegie, OK. In addition to his wife and daughters, Wishy is survived by his eight grandchildren, Miah Marks, Mariah Marks, Jiah Marks Jr., Alexis Waller, Dominic Frazier, Elizabeth Waller, Gabriella Waller, and Damian Frazier,brothers Greg Berryhill and James Berryhill.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Opal and Kenneth Goodeagle, his mother, Lula Allen Berryhill, and his father Albert Lorentz, Sr.
