Addie Ellen (Eaves) Latimer was born on November 21, 1934 to William Taft Eaves and Rachel (Crow Chief) Eaves. Addie went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on February 7, 2019 at the age of 84 with her family by her side. Addie was born a full blood Pawnee Tribal member and was a devout member of the First Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas where she resided. Addie was baptized at the Pawnee Indian Methodist Church. Addie studied to be a Licensed Beautician and moved to Miami, Oklahoma to complete high school while working as a Licensed Beautician. After graduating Miami High School she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to continue her career as a Beautician and start her family. In her marriage with George Gardipe she had 1 child and in her marriage with Earl Latimer she had 3 children. After raising her beloved children, she completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and completed her Masters coursework in Corrections from the Sociology Department at Oklahoma State University. After college Addie started her new career as the Indian Child Welfare Director with the Pawnee Nation. She then became the Indian Child Welfare Director for the Urban Inter-Tribal Center in Dallas, Texas. While in Dallas she was also a Family Counselor and Probation Officer. Addie loved to study God's Word and lived for the Lord everyday. Addie instilled these Christian values in her children and grandchildren. Addie wanted the best for her children and wanted them to excel in everything they pursued.
Addie is preceded by in death by her father, William Taft Eaves; her mother, Rachel (Crow Chief) Eaves; her brothers, Wilbur "Willie" Eaves; Richard "Ronnie" Eaves; William "Fato" Eaves; Jan "Judy" Eaves; her sisters, Rena Williams; Beatrice Sun Eagle; her nephew, Eli Page; her niece, Danya Tiger; and her son, Earl Latimer III.
Addie is survived by her brothers, Charley Ruling HisSun "Chib"; Lynn "Butch" Eaves; Glynn "Bunny" Eaves; her daughters, Georgianna Gardipe; Kimberly McHugh; and her son, Michael Latimer; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
